Today has been a very productive day. I have now rewritten the entire second last and major chapter. Amongst this chapter was a love scene that did not resemble my original vision (Too many cooks in the kitchen) Without realising it at first, I had catered to the ideas and suggestions of others (All given genuinely and all appreciated) However, I went on to create a love scene that was real and honest, though a little too honest and graphic and it didn't sit well for me or for this book. As brutally honest as it was it would have been great for a different style of book. My proof-readers/copyeditors agreed finding it all out of character and much too harsh. I think this is why as the creator of our stories, it's important to learn that you can't please everyone, and, that in the end you must write in your own style and in the way that leaves you satisfied. After all this is our story not theirs.
